Football season is finally here which means cooler weather is just around the corner.
Many of you probably spent your Labor Day weekend enjoying the last days of summer on the beach or grilling in the backyard. Before you fire up the grill, Optikk 30A wants to remind you of a few ways to keep your eyes safe and healthy this grilling season.
Eye Protection
Just because the weather is cooler doesn’t mean the sun isn’t shining, so be sure to keep your sunglasses on. The sun’s glare can do a lot of damage reflecting off your new shiny grill. Be sure your sunglasses have the right protection against UVA and UVB rays, and if you plan to be near the water, polarized lenses will give you the best protection against the sun’s glare. Optikk 30A has a wide selection of protective sunglasses and eye wear to keep you safe and fashionable this grilling season.
Grilling Safety
Grilling is not just all fun and games. It can be very dangerous if you are not paying attention. Before you start preparing your favorite foods on the grill, keep a few eye safety tips in mind:
- Smoke can cause your eyes to become dry, red and irritated. Try positioning the grill so the wind blows the smoke away from you.
- Use proper utensils so that food particles do not splash or pop you in the face.
- Keep your grilling area well-lit and away from the crowd so as not to harm others.
- Always keep your sunglasses or protective eyewear on!
